Moving To Italy

You need a lot of patience when moving to Italy. It can be hard to get to understand the local cultures but fortunately, the law has helped to make the paperwork a little easier. Unlike before, Italian employees need not produce a work card to get a job. However, there are very strict regulations for foreigners.

These foreigners, if successful to enter Italy, will walk around with an ID card, which carries all their personal information. This includes their residency status and criminal records.  Many Americans have lived and even overstayed in Italy in the past. The Italian government is not as strict with them as it is with citizens of other countries.

Those already in Italy constantly need to keep themselves well informed with the changing laws on visas, permits and general residency. If you want to move to Italy for a vacation of about six months you need a short-stay permit. You can renew the permit if you want to stay for three months more. You cannot stay in Italy without a long-stay permit but then for this, you should have a visa from the Italian embassy or Italian consulate in America.

There are various visas and while it is easy to obtain some, it is difficult to obtain others. A lot of information is needed to apply for a visa and you should check with the Italian consulate or embassy. You can also check the documentation online. To get the visa, make sure your passport is valid for not less than three months since the day it was applied for.
